How to setup a magento system in a 1and1 VPS server 1

I'm making this tutorial as a note and maybe a help to those who might wanted to do the same. I had a hard time with it and almost took 10 of my precious hours. So here it is.

What we have:
-a magento application
-a 1and1 vps server

Steps:

1.) Login to your 1and1 account and click on your vps package account
2.) Then click Manage Domains->Server Administration->Server Access Data
-Take note of the details
3.) Login to Virtuozzo Power Panel and set Plesk, mysql php to Auto Start
-VPS Services->System Services
4.) Verify your Plesk account, you will notice a rectangular bar above that says so

5.) Now we will add our domain
a.) login to Plesk
b.) under Main Menu click Domains->Create Domain
c.) enter an ftp account
d.) uncheck PHP 'safe mode' on
e.) click ok

Now you have a domain and can start uploading your files using ftp

Next-> Updating the php installation
